Moonlighting
I’ve been photographing by moonlight for 14 years, since art directing a shot of Mount Fuji lit by the full moon. The exposures tend to be between 4 and 8 minutes, enough to render stormy seas as misty calm and scuttling clouds as streaks across the sky. I’m lucky that Brighton where I live is bounded to the north by the South Downs National Park and to the south by the sea. There are plenty of quiet beaches and hills away from the city lights for me to explore at night.
